VALENTINE'S DAY 2012
It is love when a sister fondles a younger brother,
Love as a baby laughs when with kisses the father gives its face a smother; Love, celebrate every moment of it!!!
Beyond words, acts and all lies, love, the feeling matched by no other.
It is love when a mother nurses a bruise on the arm of her boy,
Love when a child gifts anything to its parents, just to see the tears of joy;
Love, powerful than the elements, purer than nectar,
This day of all days, come together and celebrate;
The love of one dear, near, guardian or protector.
A flower to cherish, a ring to admire, a liquor to savor, a fragrance to remember,
Gifts many, but the emotion one;
Just as the people varied – the love, one.
With the same love, shared by all,
A tiny heart beats, et al.
Sending out wishes as waves of affection;
May this Valentine’s be the advent of lives’ conjunction.
Eve... The Silhouette of The Sun...
I wonder if you are a fleeting memory, or the fading rays of the setting sun;
Flesh & Blood
There I was, watching the calm smooth colors of the sunset. The sea breeze was delightfully fresh and exotic. A glass of ice cool mojito in my hand, added to some really soothing tunes on the radio. The last day of the week couldn’t have been better in any way possible.
All I had to do was to wait for the night to come over so I could watch some good horror flick, snuggle in my bed and drop off to sleep. Oh! I almost forgot, I had to cook, what else could I have for dinner? A bit of a drizzle started, my thoughts left me and I rushed back inside. The evening was getting cooler. Maybe I would have to snuggle in earlier than expected, might as well cook the dinner before getting a bit of shut-eye. I scurried off to the kitchen to examine what I could experiment with today. Hmm… plenty of stuff, I got to work.
A ring, then another, was it the phone or the door? The downpour was too heavy by now to discern anything clearly. My work in the kitchen wasn’t over, came out a bit disgruntled, it definitely wasn’t the phone, strolled up to the door, the ringing continued. Looked out the spyhole, the darn verandah lights were out. Turned the knob and felt as if ten tons of something crashed into my skull. Why was everything blurry……………..
My brow was hurting like a thousand devils. I tried to lift myself, but something sharp bit into my arms. With much effort I opened my eyes, seemed my lids were stuck with some glue. This wasn’t my basement. A head suddenly popped up in front of my face, amidst the disheveled hair and stubbly chin, I could see a row of broken, tobacco-stained teeth. That ugly grin could scare the living daylights out of anyone. For the first time ever, I wanted to scream, but the gag kept my tongue from moving. Unknown to me, tears started welling up in my eyes, it seemed as if they had got a voice of their own.
‘Now that the girl is done, it’s your turn’, the very sound of that voice sent chills down my spine, ‘she seemed to be on a diet, there wasn’t much taste’. What on earth did he mean by that? ‘But you my boy, seem juicy enough for a Halloween feast’. How words could make someone faint, I could just wonder: until now.
The blackness clearing from my head, I found the lights dimmed, I kept myself from thinking that the silhouette at the far end of the room was a human carcass, until I saw a rat coming out of its chest. My mouth was free, I puked. This wasn’t the same room, the earlier smelt clinical, this one smelled of blood, stagnant for quite some time. I screamed, a full-throated one at that. ‘Wow, today’s my lucky day, I got two screamers’, he chuckled from behind. He was brandishing a razor, the one in biology instrument boxes and at really old barber shops. It seemed he had sharpened it before, a touch on my arm and I could see the dark red flowing freely. He drew closer, as I screamed even louder and licked up my life juice with an evil smile. ‘God, you seem to have the blood of an animal, I won’t be needing alcohol to wash you down’. I squirmed, screaming was of no use, it was apparent to me by now. ‘I was going to chew some bits of you, seems like it would be a crime to let all that blood go to waste. So lucky, you won’t see yourself being relished.’, he spoke with a delight clouded with some gloominess.
The razor glinted in the light of the candle as it drew near to my throat. Somewhere down my gut, an angry voice rose, came up to my lips, and out came, maybe the last scream of mine.
‘Holy cow’, I said. Rubbing my head, I swung left and right, it was my room and sunlight was streaming in from every possible direction. Thank God. It was a nightmare.

Eve... The Silhouette of The Sun...
I wonder if you are a fleeting memory, or the fading rays of the setting sun;
It's something about you that makes me vacillate, sends my thoughts on a run;
An instant here in my heart, a moment there in my brain;
I feel your control, on my every nerve, artery & vein;
Spare me the riddle, oh shimmering mirage;
Every sphinx smile of yours, sends down my spine an emotional montage;
Like a pulse gripping my very soul, you appear in my dreams;
Your silence being your beauty, supreme akin the pearlescent lunar beams;
Free me from this bastille of consciousness, where your vision evades my sight;
God, Oh Almighty, let her aura in my life be the form of your divine light.
