A fervor of gaiety, a splash of dazzling light…

Seems like the night would take a hurried flight…

Red, Green, Yellow incandescence…

Brings to earth, the aura of heavenly luminescence…

A night where everyone shares happiness…

Never will on this eve, be present lone darkness…

And thus the scribe in his thoughts pens down…

An aspect of the festival of lights…

We wish the luck of the world to each other…

Sweets and savories making the statement bolder…

Gifts galore on the hallowed day…

Shout out to all, make merry and be gay…

A night where truth triumphs over falsity…

Friendship over enmity…

Where the shadow of evil is severed by the shard of goodness…

This Diwali let’s make within ourselves a stronger social harness…

Pledge to be upright, fight for what’s fair…

Vow to help others and show that we care…

I don’t say that such would deem you boons celestial…

It would bring us closer to Him, and remove from us what’s bestial…

So here’s a wish to all for the season…

Happy Deepawali, cause for lighting up someone’s life, you need not have a reason….

Friendship Day 2010

With compassion in your voice & every gesture,

Love & trust being your soul’s sole lustre;

You lent me that God-gifted help & support,

Times when I have felt like I was going apart;

That kind benevolence and countenance,

You are the proof of His Holy presence;

Rejoicing in my draughts of success,

You made sure any loss wouldn’t affect me in any excess;

From being a companion over the web of the world wide & far,

You have ever brought the warmth of a bright burning star;

Those flamboyant jokes & ever-cheerful stance,

Always seem to pierce the clouds of grief like a lightning’s silver lance.

But maybe I had taken you for granted,

At times expecting more than I actually wanted;

Subsequent to my actions thus, like a hallowed sign from the heavens above,

Like an archangel you led me away from the Hell of Imprudence into the Eden of Love;

When the world mundane beat down on my morale,

Your sharp rebukes made me stand up even against trials unknown & feral;

What did make you be such a benefactor?

Neither being kith nor kin, you did flood me with emotions akin nectar;

I wondered what this strange relation was,

Never was anyone else in the Creation so loveable such as;

Joys & sorrows for me came across from all,

You allowed the joys through, became for sorrows a veritable fortress wall;

Parents are the form of God I knew,

But you are the Guardian Angel, that know very few;

The very instant my heart throbbed & spoke soft,

You are my ‘FRIEND’, who has taken me seven heavens aloft.

Thank you for being there my friends, this one is for you all…… !!!
